20th April 2018 - Marlow and missing players, Millwall striker scoring at Welling and Peter Beadle 3 titles back to back with Hereford
Tim Fuell flies solo in this week's round-up of the big news from the grassroots game.
First up Mark Bartley manager at Marlow FC that last Saturday was more like the Marlow Celeste with a lack of players forcing their game v Ashford Town (Middlesex) in the Southern League Division One South East was postponed at 3pm. Hear what happened, why it happened and why it may just have been the best thing to happen from the manager's mouth.
For some the end of the season can't come soon enough for Millwall striker Jamie Philpot currently on loan with Welling United in the National South some additional games and a season extension would have been perfect. Looking at becoming a free agent in the summer, he talks about the ups and downs of the pro game and why non league experience has been so rewarding.
Legendary is often overused in football, but Hereford FC manager Peter Beadle can't be far short of fully deserving the title. Three seasons in to the phoenix club's history and Beadle has led his team to their third championship, again with games in hand and he's now eyeing up life in the Conference. Honest and frank, he assesses the next challenge and how the club and city has grown since the new club formed.
