People caught littering in England now face on-the-spot fines of up to £150. The penalty, which came into force across England over the weekend, is almost double the previous amount of £80. Here in Northern Ireland anyone caught littering faces a £80 reduced to £60 if paid within 10 days. But should we consider increasing fines to stop the litter louts? Vinny got the views of commentators Fionola Meredith and Newton Emerson.
