Britain Radio - launch
Episode 351, Feb 20, 2012, 10:08 PM
Britain Radio was one of the cluster of 1960s pirate radio stations, most of which were moored on ships just outside UK territorial waters. This one was based on-board the 'Laissez Faire'; and the vessel's name suggested its hopes.
Replete with Light music, backed by dollars, and fuelled by American formatics, Britain Radio launched proudly in 1966; becoming Radio 355 in early 1967, amidst all the familiar wranglings of the era.
