Welcome to State of the Empire – the Star Wars Speculation Podcast where we look for news in Alderaan places!

This series is now a part of the Consequence Podcast Network, but when it started back in 2012, it was a special episode of the podcast, Nerdy Show – recorded when we got the surprising news that Lucasfilm was sold to Disney.

We've chronicled the entire life cycle of Star Wars in the Disney era, from that moment onward – every strange rumor, canceled project, and nuanced observation about the transformation of this ever-evolving franchise. Not to mention our in-depth coverage on the future of other notable Lucasfilm properties in our recurring segments: Indy Inquiry and Willow Watch.

State of the Empire evolved from an occasional special on Nerdy Show, to a standalone podcast series, to being a co-feature of Consequence of Sound, and finally, with the advent of the Consequence Podcast Network, moved over fully as a part of Consequence's family of podcasts. We're still co-produced by The Nerdy Show Network and keep on delivering hot intel from the galaxy far, far away.
