Former Pitt, Texas A&M, & Mississippi State Head Coach Jackie Sherrill shared his stories from playing at Alabama to coaching Tony Dorsett and Dan Marino at Pitt.

Jackie Sherrill shared stories from his time playing at Alabama alongside Joe Namath and described what a great athlete Joe was. He said Namath could out run most of the guys on the track team. He shared memories of his time coaching at Pitt, how he recruited Tony Dorsett and coached Dan Marino. We heard the story of their their last second victory over Georgia in the 1982 Sugar Bowl, including his conversation with Dan Marino during the timeout when they faced a 4th and 5 from the Georgia 33 yard line with 42 seconds left. They could have kicked a FG and tied the game but Marino told him they didn’t go there to play for a tie.
