Birmingham Council Leader: big sporting events "are expensive but are always value for money for the city and help grow economy"

With 50 days to go until the World Indoor #Athletics Championships in #Birmingham, the locally-designed and made medals were unveiled today. With that event - and beyond that, the #Commonwealth Games in 2022 to work towards - Birmingham City Council leader Ian Ward told BBC WM that the public still want major sporting events in the city, and that despite the costs, they make overall economic sense for Birmingham.
