Brad & Dan- Nov. 29, 2017: Sen. Kelly says legislature will take action

Connecticut state Sen. Kevin Kelly, R-21st, says the legislature will take action to address the issue of contracts between health care facilities and insurance providers, but it will be some time before a policy is formulated. In an interview on Brad & Dan, Sen. Kelly, co-chair of the Connecticut General Assembly's Insurance & Real Estate committee, discussed the hearing which took place between the committee and representatives from Hartford HealthCare and Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield. The hearing occurred, following a prolonged contract dispute between the two entities that thrust some consumers into out-of-network doctors, driving up their costs.
