The Pierz Pioneers capped off their brilliant 2017 season with a 34-21 victory over the previously undefeated, #1 ranked Crusaders at US Bank Stadium, forcing a Prep Bowl record-tying 8 fumbles and recovering 4 against the highest scoring offense in the State. Jalen Jansen ran for 178 yards and 2 touchdowns while his running mate Reese Kapsner shredded the Crusaders for 128 yards and found paydirt 3 times himself. The Pioneers end their magical year with a perfect record of 13-0 and take home the Class AAA Championship Trophy for the 2nd time in 3 years. It's also the 3rd State Championship overall, with a 2004 Class AA Trophy already in the Trophy case.
