Color Therapy Pilot: Lance Tango & Coach Chauncy

Nov 02, 2017, 12:00 AM

The UCB Comedy Podcast Network is excited to announce that throughout November we’ll be releasing three diversity based podcast pilots. You can do your part by tuning in and listening to these hilarious underrepresented voices in comedy.

Color Therapy discusses the particular struggles POC face when battling mental illness, including those triggered by the societal trauma that comes with being a POC. Through humorous conversation, we make these issues relevant by touching on a wide variety of topics. Featuring interviews with a diverse roster of guests including comedians, artists, advocates, mental health experts, and activists sharing their journeys in mental health,  addressing the specific needs PoC have that the mainstream mental health community has failed to recognize.

In this pilot, comedians Raja Michaels, Lenny Shelton, talk with Social Justice-Oriented Psychotherapist, Lance Tango to talk how mental health & social justice intersect. They cover how class, race, sex, & religion can play into how mental health is observes & treated in marginalized communities, the struggles in gaining patient/client trust, and more. They close out the show with a life-coach, Coach Chauncy & read listener letters.
