Belfast councillors' bid to get city centre bus lane scrapped

Two Belfast city councillors have called for a £1 million bus lane to be scrapped saying they have grave concerns about the traffic congestion it is causing. Earlier this year, it was revealed that bus lane cameras in Belfast had collected more than £2.5 million since June 2015. But the camera which made most money is the one monitoring the bus lane on Donegal square east, with a whooping £1 million from frustrated car owners. Now Ulster Unionist councillors Jim Rodgers and Jeff Dudgeon have put forward a motion calling for the bus lane to be scrapped. Their UUP colleague Chris McGimpsey joined Vinny this morning along with environmental journalist Jeff Gazzard.
