“Some of the bags are still here in Parliament, who brought them - I cannot tell.”

Members of Parliament and government officials are in the spotlight amid reports that they have received bags of rice donated by the Chinese government intended for the vulnerable.

China recently delivered 50,000 bags targeting the displaced and those affected by the crisis.

Reports suggest some of the food has been distributed to staff in Ministries and Members of Parliament in Juba.

Paul Yoanis Bonju, the Chairperson of Parliament’ information committee, says he personally did not receive any rice, but confirms some bags were delivered to Parliament.
