Roger Day - England/Caroline/Luxy/Picc
Roger Day is one of a cluster of pirate survivors who have created a lasting career. His life on-air began on-board 'Swinging Radio England', where presenters were urged to sound like the Americans. His own very English chirpy sound later was later allowed to shine through, as it has to this day. Roger's next stop was at Luxy with noteworthy spells on board Radio Caroline and the dramatic 70s pirate ship, RNI.
With Piccadilly's ex-pirate management, it's easy to see why it was in Manchester where he cropped up on land in 1974. Roger's voice was heard on its first show, famously spinning in the Beach Boys on turntables which did not quite help. He's also been heard on: BRMB; Saga; Invicta; Radio West; Jazz FM; Pirate FM; County Sound; and the list goes on.
As so many, he's moved to BBC Local Radio; at Kent and across the South.
