High tech bins are the latest technology being used to help keep Blue Flag beaches clean in Thanet. The council are set to add more than 70 bins to the 215 already in place along the coastline, with 'smart meters' fitted to monitor when the bin is full and report back to the council via email. Thanet councillor Lin Fairbrass hopes that more bins will reduce rubbish.
