Show Notes: - Pam and Lindsey hop right to it as Lindsey tells us about how writing for comic books was actually not so different from making up stories for her own music videos. - Like all great stories, ‘Sparrow’ started with a small idea. Lindsey talks us through how one track in particular inspired her first foray into comic book writing. - Like her music videos, comic books are all about how the visual stories come to life. Lindsey explains what it was like to watch the artist for ‘Sparrow’ sketch out the characters she’s come up with. - We talk about the general plot of ‘Sparrow’ and how light versus dark play into the plot. - Lindsey also explains her longterm fascination with the symbolism of light and darkness, and how she interprets the main source of conflict that ‘Sparrow’ presents. - Music isn’t the only thing that inspired ‘Sparrow.’ Lindsey tells us about some of her favorite fantasy stories and which she looked to for reference when creating her own world. - She also teases a few easter eggs peppered throughout the six-part comic book series that are sure to please longtime fans! - We talk a bit about one very special character set to make an appearance in the comics. Lindsey also explains the importance of making sure each character had a fleshed out backstory. - Is there hope for more stories from this particular universe? The answer is maybe! - We wrap things up with a few fun topics, including Harry Potter, our favorite thing about SDCC, and of course, ask Lindsey to join in our signature How We Hype segment to find out what she’s been enjoying in the realm of pop culture!
