Reclaim the Night (reimagined)

Reclaim the Night protest reimagined by Dave Santorum (ErisianLib).

"Women unite. Reclaim the night. Tried to represent the chaos of a night out in London. Original recording dominated by chants, whistles, tambourines and cheers. The whistles are used to represent a rhythm but finally in its more traditional role - as an alarm. The piece owes a little to a concept in The Tin Drum by Günter Grass - Oskar transforms a Nazi rally by playing syncopated rhythms beneath the podium. Taking the voices and sounds of protest and layering with more traditional "party" noises hopefully contrasts the very serious message and allows the listener to excuse the repetition."
