Listening to my ancestors (Thessaloniki)
Thessaloniki protest reimagined by Melike Ceylan.
"As I have ancestors from Thessaloniki, it was primarily a personal choice to work on this recording. Even though the language is not familiar, the soundscape expresses the enthusiasm along with the distress. My approach is to capture the reflections of this protest solely through sounds by applying the characteristics of the ambiance that involve both the randomness and confidence to the sonic tools in the form of a collage."
