Kneed (London EU march)
Reimagined by Aimee Chapman.
"The dominating sound in my recording was the Beatles ‘All You Need is Love’ and the crowd joining in to sing along to the chorus. It’s an iconic, joyful song and listening along the recording it almost sounds like a bunch of friends having a drink or two at a garden party or a picnic. I found I needed to remind myself that these were people who had come together to protest, compelled to collectively voice a strong opinion, a need, a want, and while the song choice would indicate a protest of overriding peace, emotions would nonetheless be running high and as a result such an environment can often feel unstable. I wanted to convey this feeling of protest and love on a knife-edge in my re-imagined piece, with what I hope is the sound of love prevailing."
