July 23rd, 2017 - City Plants
Elizabeth Skrzat, Program Director, talks about how City Plants is creating a greener future for Los Angeles through their Free Tree Program along with The Department of Water and Power (LADWP). Los Angeles residents can apply online to have a free street tree planted in front of their home, on a parkway or at their business. Benefits include, clean air, energy efficiency, better health, cooling shade and a more vibrant neighborhood.
This organization plants and gives away approximately 20,000 trees a year. The priority of City Plants is to plant trees where they are most needed in Los Angeles and to create equal access to trees and their benefits throughout the city. Learn more at cityplants.org.
