7/21/17 11 PM - Top of the Hour Newscast

The Sparks Fire Department was called to a report of a fire this evening in an open field with structures threatened. Firefighters arrived on scene to find the fire had spread from a dry, grassy field into a multi-unit residential structure. Residents of the 4-unit structure were evacuated with no injuries. The fire was quickly extinguished in the field and in the structure but caused major damage to the common attic area of the structure. Red Cross was requested to assist eight adults and five children who could no longer stay in their apartments due to fire and water damage.
