This is a peaceful protest
Portland protest reimagined by Steffi Neuhuber.
"I heard the field recording of this demonstration in a city where I did already spend some time and liked it there. It was a peaceful demonstration when suddenly someone broke a window. I liked to sound of breaking glass and also the reactions. The others called the person out but found peace again. Structure and chaos, different layers of sound finding together, fighting for the same but also against each other however having this peaceful base. I experimented with the different sounds, cut the original field recording into tiny pieces – words, rhythms, noise and put it back together. For the base I did record a melody on a synth and played some noises with my voice, using a mic and pedals."
