The Sierra Front is now reporting that firefighters have gained quick control of a fire that broke out a at about 3:00 this afternoon. They say they it had dispatched eight fire engines and a helicopter to a brush fire in the Highland Drive area of east Fernley. Structures were threatened briefly shortly after the fire began.
