Offshore worker says it's "horrific" that Super Pumas are getting to fly again
The man behind the petition calling for Super Puma helicopter to be permanently banned says it’s “horrific” they’re getting to fly again.
They were all grounded after an Airbus H225 crashed off the coast of Norway last year, killing 13 people including an Aberdeenshire man.
On Friday, the Civil Aviation Authority cleared the model as safe to fly again, following a number of changes to the model by the operator.
However the decision to use them is being left to oil companies and helicopter operators.
David Winder’s petition gained tens of thousands of signatures from offshore workers and their families in the aftermath of the crash.
