Nevada has always been a state where travel is part of the culture, from Las Vegas to Elko. In a recent study from Wallet Hub, Nevada ranks 7th in the country when it comes to taking road trips. Nevada ranks first for number of nightlife options per capita and first in the cost of camping; on the downside, the Silver State has the fourth-highest number of car thefts per capita and fifth highest gasoline prices among the 50 states.
