Rosko, first show - Radio 1
Rosko. A Radio 1 name, famed for his 'Round Table' and for the priceless retort from John Dunn who remarked within Rosko's 'Midday Spin' on the station's launch day: 'and now the news - in English'. His style was pure energy: a wall of sound, commonplace in the US, but still, to this day, never a real part of the sound of UK music radio. Great fun to do though.
Rosko hailed from Radio Caroline, spending nine years at Radio 1 before flying back to the US. He did return to Europe, for spells at Luxembourg and back at Radio 1. He's now back in California.
