Higher Education Minister strikes deal with Zim over Scholarship arrears
The Zimbabwe government has agreed to allow South Sudanese university students on government scholarship to continue with their studies pending payment of the balance of their tuition arrears.
The breakthrough was reached in a meeting between Higher Education Minister Justice Yien Oral and his counterpart in Harare.
Bol Abol John, a student in Harare told Radio Miraya on line from Zimbabwe that the ministers agreed that the 500,000 US dollars that was earlier approved by the Council of Ministers will be put down as partial payment, with the balance to be paid over 3 months.
Bol says the ministers are expected to sign revised memorandum of understanding once the balance has been cleared.
