Africa Day: Africa's youth to launch peace, justice and dignity movement
Today is Africa Day, a day set aside annually to commemorate the foundation of the Organisation of African Unity (OAU) now known as the African Union on May 25, 1963.
It is extra special this year, with the body marking its golden jubilee.
Official celebrations will take place at the AU’s headquarters in Ethiopia’s capital, Addis Ababa, the same city that hosted the inaugural summit in 1963.
While explaining the importance of the day to Radio Miraya's Samuel Pawon, Vorna Joseph Zaki from the African Rising organization said the day will see the launch of a youth movement aimed at improving the wellbeing of Africans.
