UNMISS Supports Peace Efforts In Terekeka

The United Nations Mission in South Sudan is ready to support efforts by the government, community elders and traditional leaders to jump-start a process designed to ease tensions between the farmers and the pastoralists in Terekeka.

Tensions between the Mundari and the Dinka Bor communities has been a recurrent problem, often straining relations between the two communities.

Speaking to Miraya Breakfast show, Geetha Pious, Team leader of the Central Equatoria, civil affairs division of the UN Mission in South Sudan, said more efforts are needed to bring sustainable peace between the two communities.
