Should you force your kid to go to summer camp?

Melissa & Chris's 12 yr old is bright and excels at school so mom always keeps her busy in camps and educational programs during the summer. This time around she is resisting going to camp, dad says it's time to let her be a kid for once this summer but mom disagrees. What do you think?
