What more can be done so that people feel comfortable to discuss mental health in the workplace?
Today marks the start of mental health awareness week. It comes after last week a new survey suggested that half of people in the UK wouldn't be happy to discuss mental health issues at work. 49% said they would be unlikely to tell their boss about problems such as anxiety, depression or bipolar disorder. Only 35% said they'd be happy to tell colleagues. So what more can be done so that people feel comfortable to discuss their mental health in the workplace? Vinny spoke to Linda Bryans, she was a journalist who has had her own battles with mental health, and Michelle Byrne from Aware NI.
