New Orleans clashes over monuments

This week in New Orleans, there have been nightly clashes around some of the city’s most prominent monuments, after the council there decided to take four of them down because they are offensive to African Americans. The first one – commemorating an attack by a local White supremacist group – was taken down in the middle of the night, without warning. The other three commemorate prominent confederate figures. It’s raised the difficult debate about not just monuments, but about whether a shameful past is glorified by some Americans. Our North America Correspondent, Aleem Maqbool, reports from New Orleans….
