Cop in England confiscates daffodils from two little girls picked in park - were police right or a bit harsh?

Is it ever ok to pick some flowers from the side of the road? An outraged dad decided to take out his phone and film an altercation with a police officer in Mansfield. He was told off for letting his little girls - pick some daffodils at the side of the road. And he, was not happy. The police woman took the flowers from David Taylor's 5 and 10 year old girls, and reportedly gave them to a nursing home. So what do you reckon? Do you pick the odd posey from the side of the road?
