Orkney and revitalising communities

Papa Westray is one of Orkney’s smallest islands and dates back to the 8th century Vikings. It’s home to northern Europe’s oldest standing abode, abundant wildlife and up until a few years ago, a dwindling human population. However efforts by the community is bucking this trend with the population increasing in the past few years.
