"I chose this recording due to the clarity of its bells. It strikes me that church bells not only summon church-goers to worship, they also intrude upon the lives of any non- church-goers who happen to be within earshot – a relentless reminder of the simple notion that some dead people get to ascend to heaven, whereas the rest descend into hell. I have attempted to inject that simplistic mindset into the audio itself, by bending the pitch of each bell upwards or downwards."
