Music Box for the Homeless Mother

Reimagined by Terry French.
"The windchimes in the field recording are what drew me to the piece. I began by splicing out a lot of the wind noise and one of the spliced pieces was the reoccurring pattern that dominates the piece. When I bit crushed the 3 notes, it sounded somewhat like a rusted music box might sound. I found a different one note tone that I stretched and reversed attempting to create a drone. When I put a slowly looping frequency sweep on this drone I was reminded of the sound of vehicles on a distant roadway. The music box, distant roadway somehow brought me to homeless and I inserted the sounds of a baby to indicate the plight of the homeless mother. "
