Buzz FM (Birmingham) - End

Buzz FM was what the regulator, the Radio Authority, termed an 'incremental station' - incremental to the tier of established heritage stations, in this case Birmingham's BRMB.

Buzz went on air in May 1990, serving Birmingham alone, with a comparatively low transmission power. It was to last but four years.

                                                                                              The station was originally licensed to bring a 'sophisticated music-based service, serving and informing a unified audience of multi-ethnic adults by day, providing specific programmes of special interest each evening and to accurately reflect urban contemporary life and actively foster social involvement, co-operation and harmony'.

Buzz suffered a set of issues over the years. It was replaced by Choice on neighbouring 102.2 at the beginning of 1995, which became Galaxy, now Capital.
