John Timpson - Tribute

His voice woke up the nation for some 16 years on The Today Programme.
John Timpson had emerged from press to join the BBC as a reporter, recruited to the Today team in 1970. He was one of the presenters until 1976, then again from 1978 to 1986, alongside the like of Jack de Manio, Brian Redhead and Robert Robinson. John also presented Any Questions for three years.
John Timpson died in 2005.
