Second blow for Caithness & Sutherland mums-to-be?
MFR can reveal that the NHS plans to change midwife staffing for Caithness and Sutherland - just a week after downgrading Wick's hospital's maternity services. The health board says 'how a midwife is accessed may differ in the future' with staff on hand between 8am and 8pm, and midwives could be just a phone call away for the other 12-hours, if needed at Caithness General.
