New Cortical Implant Could Restore Vision.

US based Second Sight is striving to use technology to restore vision to blind and partially sighted people. Their Argus II retinal implant is already undergoing successful clinical trials around the globe. The next step is to implant a chip in the brain that can stimulate and transmit vision to the patient and it's already well into it's initial development stage.
