US media group advocates for 'human side' to Refugee stories
A US based media group is advocating for stories about refugees that would allow people around the world relate more with the plight and circumstances of refugees.
‘Peace News Media’ sent a journalist to a camp hosting thousands of South Sudanese refugees in northern Uganda and talked to them about their daily life and hopes for their country.
Speaking to Radio Miraya from the United States, Peace News Director, Babak Bahador, said their coverage of South Sudanese refugees is aimed at exposing the side of conflict that is often not covered by international media.
“To have a successful peace process people need to stop seeing the world as upside down,” Babak told Radio Miraya reporter Henry Lokuri.
