UN advisor: Risk factors for genocide must be contained

The UN Special advisor on the prevention of genocide says he is saddened by the extreme polarization among tribal groups in South Sudan, which he says could evolve into a tribal war.

While concluding a 5 day visit to South Sudan, Under Secretary General Adama Dieng said there is no genocide in South Sudan, but warns that there are risk factors that must be contained. The Under Secretary General said the government must give evidence that it is managing diversity and inclusivity of all people.
