The Life Aquatic - Linnet Woods
Linnet’s story is quite remarkable. She spent her childhood moving from country to country as the daughter of a British spy-catcher. She trained as a dairy farmer, she worked as a traditional fisherwoman in Spain, she made a good living in London as a singer and songwriter and she ran an upmarket restaurant on the island of Mallorca. The one constant throughout her life has been boats. She learned to sail a dinghy on Lake Naivasha in Kenya during the late 1950s. She has since crossed the Atlantic twice, explored the Caribbean and the western Mediterranean and still lives on a boat, a classic schooner, which sits at anchor in the Bay of Palma, not a million miles from Boat Radio headquarters. Mike McDowall met her at a café in Palmanova, Mallorca.
