Humanitarian partners respond to water crisis in Bidi-Bidi
Humanitarian partners are scaling up interventions to respond to a water shortage at a refugee camp accommodating thousands of South Sudanese refugees in northern Uganda.
It was reported that up to 195-thousand refugees in the Bidi-bidi camp in Yumbe district are facing a serious shortage of clean water.
Speaking exclusively to Radio Miraya, Nasir Fernandez UNHCR Senior Emergency Coordinator says both short and long term interventions are in progress to contain the water crisis. Fernandez says water tankers supply water on daily basis and more boreholes have been drilled.
