UNMISS Peacekeepers rescue capsized boat on River Nile

A marine unit of UN Peacekeepers has rescued a capsized boat along the River Nile in Malakal.

The boat overloaded with charcoal was coming from the Wau Shilluk area and was heading to a landing site on the other side of the bank on Saturday when it was hit by a strong wave.

The Deputy Operations officer of the Bangladesh Force Marine Unit Lt Commander Imam Hossain Mohammad, explains that the unit immediately dispatched a rescue team that managed to save the passengers and recover all the bags of charcoal.
