The power of sport to tackle conflict and cohesion has become increasingly appreciated in light of the situation in South Sudan.

According to the UN’s children’s agency - UNICEF, about 900,000 children have been internally displaced since the violence erupted on 15 December 2013.

Bearing this in mind, Trust Link Sports club, has initiated a sports academy, a football based program designed to bring these children together and provide them skills to strengthen peace and harmony in #SouthSudan.

On a mission to raise awareness about the UNMISS mandate, Alahayi Nemaya, UNMISS public information officer and the outreach team, met the children and their coaches at the football pitch in Juba and had a chat with them.
