UN Family in South Sudan celebrate UN day
Today is United Nations Day, a day put aside every year to mark the anniversary of the entry into force of the UN Charter in 1945.
With the ratification of UN Charter, the founding document by the majority of its signatories, including the five permanent members of the Security Council, the United Nations officially came into being.
In Juba, the UN Family will come together for celebrations at Nyakuroni Cultural center.
Hiro Saito, head of the outreach Unit of the UN Mission in South Sudan, says this year's UN Day will be used to highlight concrete actions and achievements of the UN Mission in South Sudan, UN agencies, and Funds.
