The United Nations Mission in South Sudan is reminding all parties to respect the civilian nature of the Protection of Civilian sites.

UNMISS says it regrets recent claims that it is harboring criminals in the sites and says it regularly engages in search and seizure operations, designed to maintain the arms free civilian nature of the sites.

The UN Mission is calling for the co-operation of the communities within the 6 protection sites and the Transitional Government to protect civilians.

Acting UNMISS spokesperson Shantal Persaud, spoke with Sebit William about some of the emerging concerns for the mission.
