Partnerships needed to end Hunger in South Sudan, says WFP
“Ending hunger in our lifetime is possible and we can build a world where everyone, everywhere has access to nutritious food if we all work together as partners to achieve this result,” George Fominyen, communications officer has said. Fominyen said the UN’s food agency; WFP is highlighting the need for bold and constructive partnerships between governments, business and organizations that will create the necessary momentum towards achieving Zero Hunger and shaping a brighter future for millions of children.
According to the latest integrated phase food security Phase classification – IPC, released in June the number of severely food insecure people shot up from 4.3 million to 4.8 million people.
Speaking with Miraya Breakfast Shwo, Fominyen shared some of the stories he has heard from ordinary citizens in their daily struggles to feed their families.
