A leading academic has suggested loyalists should think about walking away from the latest Stormont process for dealing with the past.

Dr Graham Spencer from Portsmouth University says loyalists have nothing to gain from the process. And should consider ignoring it while they're being ingnored so they can develop their opwn way forward.

This comes as the UUP have thrown their weight behind calls for loyalists to be involved in the talks.

Fermanagh and South Tyrone MP Tom Elliott has told eamonnmallie.com that if republicans are to be involved, we need to hear from loyalists.
