Dhafer Youssef joined Chris Philips on The Blueprint

Tunisian Oud player Dhafer Youssef has just released his first album with an all American band including trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire, pianist Aaron Parks, bassist Ben Williams and Mark Guiliana on drums. 'Diwan of Beauty and Odd' celebrates the beauty in weirdness with superb improvisation over unusual time patterns, punctuated with Dhafer's incredible voice, honed as a former Muezzin calling the Islamic faithful to prayer!
