Tales of the Thames - In the footsteps of Joseph Conrad
Author Michael John explores the London aspect of Joseph Conrad’s celebrated novella Heart of Darkness. He examines Conrad's relationship with British financier, George Hope - owner of The Nellie, which later featured in the book - and looks at Conrad's life in London and on the Thames, where he and Hope spent a great deal of time. This is a wonderful programme. Michael's research is impeccable and his interviews and interpretations compelling.
